Gamecube Emulation
April 22nd, 2009It’s been a while since I looked into emulation, and much to my surprise, we’re already seeing previous and current genoration consoles being emulated with a reasonable degree of success. I’m actually playing Custom Robo at 60+ FPS with settings maxed out. It’s delightful. The emulator I’m using is called Dolphin. Dolphin also supposedly plays some Wii games, but I have yet to test that functionality. They have a list of known working titles on their site, even.

Aw Crap / Goodbye StumbleUpon
March 29th, 2009It’s been another eternity since my last post. I completely forgot about this, except I remembered that I have to renew the domain. Since I have to pay for this site, I really should be better about keeping this updated.
That aside, I have taken initiative to stop getting so distracted on the computer. Yes, that’s right. I uninstalled StumbleUpon. I really would like to be more productive on the computer, and I always find myself opening a new Stumbled tab when I can’t think of anything to do. The reality of life is there is always too much to do. Although I enjoy some of the stuff I find through StumbleUpon, I think about 95% of it is pretty worthless, and the more time I spend on it, the more of the same rehashed garbage I end up getting. For my own sanity, and so that I might actually finish some of these projects I start, I’m uninstalling the plugin from Firefox. It’s not as though I’m addicted, though. I would say that I’m just lazy and when I cannot think of anything to do, I just made a habit of defaulting to StumbleUpon.
I have abandoned a lot of things that I really want to pick up again. I have done so little in terms of teaching myself Japanese, so little in terms of Neo Mechanica, and I’ve just started a new collaboration with a few friends that is going to be a lot of work. I don’t have time for this nonsense. Thanks for the good times, StumbleUpon, but I have to move on.

Abenobashi
February 27th, 2009I have not been watching anime as regularly as I would like to, but last night I managed to finish Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade. It was both hilarious and intriguing.

That’s a lot of fans.
February 18th, 2009So. I finished the most recent updates to my computer, and just for fun, I put a lot of fans in it. There are seven 120mm fans (three in front, one on the side, one on the top, one on the bottom, and one in back), plus the CPU heatsink/fan, plus this little annoying fan on my chipset. Specs are boring, pictures are awesome.

I don’t have much to talk about today…
February 10th, 2009…so here’s a story I had to write last week for my current English course. It was a requirement that the story is in a vulgar tone, so I had as much fun as possible with that. Just be forewarned: it is extremely vulgar. I like to think that I’m not a very angry person, and that this story is completely unlike me, but on the other hand, this is the best narrative I’ve ever done. Again, I apologize. Enjoy!
